"As One" ... fused copper and aluminium bronze

"... stylish, elegant, and bespoke metalwork ..."

Made to Commission

This heart sculpture was made by David Hyde by fusing two very different metals together as a deeply symbolic Valentine's Day present. The golden aluminium-bronze contrasts wonderfully with the copper, but the polished metals still also compliment each other. David took special care to ensure the transition between the metals was a gradual and subtle blend.

This blog page gives some insights into how the heart was made ... and it also shows a very special hidden message inside the heart. A video of it being made can be seen on this page of David's Instagram: "theblacksmithsgarden"

The last picture also shows a pair of Kintsugi inspired "healed broken hearts" made with copper, bronze, aluminium-bronze and stainless steel. More pictures of these hearts can be seen on this page and insights into their making can be seen on this page of David's Instagram: "theblacksmithsgarden"
