H8 Forged Steel Bannisters with Copper and Bronze Detailing

The bannisters of these rustic stair railings feature contrasting metals. Two specially shaped steel uprights were joined to a forged steel centre piece with bronze rivets and copper spacers.

Forging the steel to shape lends the bannisters a three dimensional quality. The metal was burnished and finished with protective wax to highlight the forged tones and textures in the balustrade. Copper and bronze are regularly featured in Verdigris's portfolio, as detailing and as a counterpoint to steel.
