This page highlights some of the unique and incredibly detailed life size
bronze casting that Verdigris's proprietor,
David Hyde, has created as part of his exploration of
cire perdue.
A modified version of lost wax casting is
employed where a one off mould is made using real life fruit, flowers and seeds. The casting captures every nuance and fine detail of the original and the mould is destroyed as part of the casting process. Each cast is as utterly unique and individual as the original created by nature; time and space
have been frozen in bronze. Once cast, the bronze is
patinated and carefully and painstakingly hand
polished.
