blends both the time honoured skills of
blacksmithing and lost wax casting (cire perdue) to create these extremely tactile bean sculptures.
Each germinating sprout is hand forged from
stainless steel which is carefully grafted into a wax seed before it is cast in
bronze. The molten bronze flows around, and fuses to, the stainless steel.
Because the shapes and placements of the sprouts differ, each sculpture is unique and individual, as are the
patinas and
polished finishes.
