This collection of germinating seeds forms the beginning of an evolving series of mixed metal sculptures that are still a work in progress.
Each unique root is hand forged from stainless steel and carefully grafted into a wax model of the seed.
The traditional craft of cire perdue replaces the wax with bronze whilst the root is still in place to create a blended metal sculpture.
As the series progresses and new sculptures are created, the roots will incrementally develop and the seeds will start to sprout leaves.
Eventually the sculptures will morph into growing seedlings ... watch this space!
