R128 Ammonite Inspired Railings for the Jurassic Coast

"... stylish, elegant, and bespoke metalwork ..."

Jurassic Coast, Dorset

The Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage Site on the Dorset and Devon coast, famous for its unique geology and abundance of fossils. What could be more fitting for a garden on this coast than a handrail inspired by ammonites!

The stylised fossil detailing brings the contemporary handrails to life, without distracting from their minimalist design. Each of the ammonites was hand forged directly on to the end of the marine grade stainless steel stanchions. These were electropolished after forging to gently contrast their finish with the satin polish of the handrails. Corrosion resistant 316L stainless was chosen because it offers superb protection from the harmal salty sea air. The electropolishing further enhances this protection.
