The design of this pair of playful and exuberant gates was inspired by the natural beauty of their Hebridean setting.
Each gate has a fixed side railing that also acts as a hidden support post. No straight lines are used
throughout the design; when the gate is closed, it blends and morphs into its side railing. The latches and hinges are also hidden and disguised as leaves or stems.
A smaller gate inspired by this design can be seen on
this page, and a different pair of gates but with a similarly hidden latch and "meeting" can be seen on
this page.
