Verdigris' proprietor
David Hyde is always keen to experiment with new
ideas and particularly enjoys designing and making creative gates that
are more than just "bars inside a rectangle". This pair of
wrought iron driveway gates
was built without a conventional frame and was designed with flowing curves inspired by
stylised plant forms. The gates only use straight lines for strength where needed, which gives the gates a graceful and elegant look.
Whilst the design is unusual and contemporary, the gates are built using traditional
blacksmithing features such as
hand forged leaves, creative
joinery and elegant sweeping forged tapers.
