The design of this pair of metal gates is a contemporary interpretation of the
work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
The six central motifs reflect the sensuous elongated curves seen in much of Mackintosh's work.
Crisp detailing is on display throughout the gates. A subtle feature is the way the cross sections of the sides of the motifs gently change profile;
the steel bars are square section in the middle of the motif but gradually change to round section as they pass through the horizontal bars.
