This collection of bluebells is a work in progress. Eventually, they will form part of a large and
dramatic bluebell sculpture over 8ft tall.
The flowers were hand beaten from stainless steel sheet which was given a deep and lustrous polish after being shaped.
The metal was then carefully heated with a blow torch.
As the temperature increases, the stainless steel first turns gold and then an intense purple/ blue. The finer and more reflective the polish; the more vivid the colours produced.
