This set of railings was made for a customer looking for a design that was relatively restrained but still a little different and quirky.
The uprights were made by forging long elegant tapers and stylised
leaves which were then wrapped around themselves.
The
hand forged nature of the leaves results in each being slightly differnt.
This lends the railings a degree of life, character and individuality.
The bright shiny finish of the zinc used to
galvanise
the railings was artificially
weathered to give it a matt and mottled grey-black finish. This will complement the oak beams as they also weather.
