This steel rose arch was designed as both a piece of sculpture and as functional metalwork.
The four legs of the arch morph into vigourously growing stems and shoots that entwine and envelop each other to give form and structure to the arch.
A pair of hand forged bluebell sculptures growing from the ground enhances the woodland theme of the arch.
The arch is 2.3m tall and 1.2m wide. The finish is
galvanised
steel that will eventually weather to a mottled grey that resembles old lead and offers decades of rust protection.
