These contemporary stair railings are a mixture of forged steel and stainless steel detailing.
The ends of the uprights and the handrails were made by forging the steel whilst hot, creating their attractive natural texture, whilst stainless steel fixings were used throughout the railings.
Hot punched holes and feature joinery were used as detailing within the railings. The handrails were forged to an expressive and tactile shape and the steel used in the railings was burnished and waxed. This protects the steel and highlights its natural tones and texture. This would be masked if the railings were painted.
