These forged steel stair balustrades
commissioned for an apartment
in Chelsea. They were developed from the "windswirl"
balustrades, with elements added to meet building regulations regarding a
Rather than being welded, the bars were joined using spacers, hot punched
holes and ballnuts. The ends of the handrails were forged to a tactile shape complementing
the shapes within the balustrades. A burnished and waxed finish
was used to give a subtle metallic appearance. The balustrades in this link have a similar design but use simpler welded joinery, whilst these balustrades have a less visually dense design.
