The design of these contemporary stair railings for a villa in Ibiza was
an evolution of
previously commissioned water
themed railings.
Both commissions
were inspired by roiling waves and the flow of water currents.
The cascading and flowing railings were made by
forging and shaping the steel whilst hot, giving them a three dimensional
sculptural quality. The dramatic changes in thickness
and profile of the handrails, and their lack of straight
lines lends the railings a real sense of
life, movement and flow as they sweep down the stairs.
The work was designed, made, delivered and installed
by Verdigris.
