These creative wrought
iron driveway gates were designed to fold back on themselves as they opened.
These type of gates are sometimes referred to as bifold or concertinaed
gates and are used to create parking space in an otherwise restricted
The design of these gates was based around stylised garden plants. The
calla lilies, long elegant tapered scrolls and other organic detailing
were made by heating the metal in a blacksmith's forge
then hammering it to shape.
Working the metal this way creates natural looking and gracefully
flowing curves. More information about how some of the leaves used in
