The design of this unique forged metal sliding gate was based around the wide
steel strips in the lower section. Each one was folded to create
the wave pattern on both sides of the gate. The strips then pass through
slots punched in
the gate's cross bar. The swelling surrounding these punched holes are just some of the rich detailing seen in the gate.
The strips were forged so that after they passed through the punched slots, their profile changed from wide and flat to round. This round section was then forged
to create the organic shapes seen in the gates. The gate was made as three sections that were joined with a combination of welding and mortise and tenon joints.
