H40 Contemporary Art Nouveau Railings

"... stylish, elegant, and bespoke metalwork ..."

Hampstead, London

The flowing sweeping curves of these railings were inspired by metalwork from the Art Nouveau period. Although the railings have a contemporary design, the bold and dramatic shapes were forged using traditional blacksmithing techniques. The railings were galvanised for decades of rust prevention and this finish was aged with an acid wash to complement the slate tiles of the terrace.

The owners also commissioned the handrail in this link and a complementary garden gate can be seen in this link.
