A pair of contemporary
candlesticks forged from a structuralsteel beam.
They use copper drip
trays as a counterpoint to
the dark steel and the base is oak . Note the folding of the steel as
it changes in profile from channel to rounded. The
steel is moved by hammering it whilst hot, creating the candlestick's elegant tapers. The
forging process gives the steel a rich worked surface texture and
natural patina. This was highlighted by burnishing then finished with wax.
