This contemporary aluminium menorah for the Hale Barns Synagogue was designed by
WAJW Architects and made by Verdigris. Its body was water jet cut from a single piece of 40mm thick aluminium. The infill panels were
designed to tie in with Tree of Life/Fruits of the Land themes
used elsewhere in the new building. Discreet pins and spacers
were used to hold these in place for crisp and uncluttered
joinery. All the front and rear faces of the menorah were given a deep rich
polish to contrast with the matt texture of the water jet cut sides. Machined sockets hold oil filled glass vials lit during Hanukkah.
